Winner of Kloster Schontal International Violin Competition, Yang Zhang is quickly building a successful career and regarded one of the brilliant violinist in his generation.

He is a prize winner of a number of prestigious international violin competitions such as the Aiman International violin competition, China Nation violin Competition, Hong Kong International String Competition and “Alexander & Buono” International String Competition.

Mr. Zhang was invited to perform in numerousinternational music festivals including the Bowdoin Festival and Morningside Music Bridge in North America; Shanghai International Music Festival and Japan IMA Music Festival in Asia, where he got accomplished by violinist such as Cho-Liang Lin, Midori, Pinchas Zukerman, Joshua Bell, Zakhar Bron, Donald Weilerstein etc.

Besides solo study, Mr. Zhang also focus on studying chamber music and orchestral work. His chamber music coaches including Jensen Lam,Nian Liu, Yinjia Yu, Shanghai Quartet etc. He was the concertmaster of Shanghai Conservatory of music.

A native of China, Mr. Zhang studied with Ms. Lina Yu and received his bachelor degree and master degree in Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Now he is a student of Mr. Boris Kuschnir, pursuing the Certificate of Performance degree in the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.He current is the youngest violin faculty at Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
