Oleh Krysa 3rd International Violin Competition

3rd International Violin Competition with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation will take place in Lviv (Ukraine) on October 17-27. The legend of the Ukrainian violin school - Oleh Krysa is the patron of the competition. Traditionally, the general sponsor of the event is TM "Svitoch".

The aim of the competition is the young talent development, promotion of world and national violin classic, Ukrainian musical heritage. The percentage of talented youth is really high here, in Ukraine, but, unfortunately, they don’t have enough money to take part in contests, which are held abroad. That is why the NGO "Artistic Association" The World of Classical Music" - founder of the competition, decided to establish a world-class level event in Ukraine.

At the first time competition was conducted in the Autumn 2013. This year, 60 musicians from around the world have submitted applications for participation.

The competition will be held in three rounds:

st round - musical composition performance solo - 15 participants will be selected for the second round;
nd round - musical composition performance, with piano accompaniment - 6 participants will be selected for the final;
rd round (final) - musical composition performance with a symphony orchestra - the jury selects winners and special awards laureates

The prize fund of the contest is:

First place - 20 thousand euros,
Second place - 10 thousand euros,
Third place - 8 thousand euros.

Oleh Krysa — is a world-famous violinist, professor at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester (USA), which was born in Lviv. His creative career started at Lviv specialized secondary music boarding school named after S.Krushelnytska. He was reaching the top of skills under the guidance of the glorified maestro David Oistrakh. Oleh Krysa performs around the world with leading orchestras and conductors as a soloist. In his repertoire 72 violin concerts of all epochs, including double and triple. Oleh Krysa is a jury member of many international violin contests. In 2013 was founded The Oleh Krysa International Violin Competition in Lviv.

Lviv Confectionery Factory "Svitoch" - one of the oldest enterprises in Ukraine, a leading manufacturer in the confectionery industry, is a successor of the time-long tradition of chocolate manufacturing. The history of "Svitoch" began in the far 1882 in Lviv, which was, at one time, called the chocolate capital of Europe. In 1998 the Lviv factory entered the group of companies Nestlé S.A.
