Talented violinist Maria Hara was born in Tokyo into a musical family. Her teachers include world famous violinists such as, Oleh Krysa, Gregory Feigin, Gérard Poulet, Roland Daugareil, Alexis Galpérine and Kazuki Sawa. In 2012 she graduated from the “Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music”.
A passionate advocate of George Enescu’s repertoire, Maria has carried out much research into the interpretation of this Romanian composers works. In 2014, whilst completing her Masters Diploma in Violin at the Paris Conservatoire, she wrote a thesis investigating the “Influence of French composers on Enescu’s works”. During her “3rd cycle” studies at the Paris Conservatory she took her research further in a project exploring Enescu’s lesser know works. In 2016 she was awarded an Artist Diploma in Performance and from 2014-2016 was the recipient of a scholarship from the Japanese foundation “Rohm Music Foundation”.
Maria has recorded two albums dedicated to George Enescu’s music.
“Caprice roumain” for violin and orchestra, directed by Philippe Aiche with the Paris Conservatoire’s Orchestra in February 2016. This is the first and only recording of the work to be made outside of Romania. In appreciation of this project Maria was invited to present her opinions on the interpretation of the work at the George Enescu International Symposium in Bucarest in September 2017.
“Jeunes Solistes”, works for violin and piano, recorded in April 2017 and supported by Fondation Meyer.
Maria performs regularly as a soloist and has won 1st prizes at the “International Romanian Competition” (Tokyo, 2009) and at “Prix Ravel” (France 2015) and was a semi-finalist at the “International Johannes Brahms” (Austria 2011) and “Rodolfo Lipizer” (Italy 2015) competitions. She has performed Violin Concertos by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Mendelssohn, Kurt Weill, “Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso” by Saint-Saëns, “Four Seasons” by Vivaldi, and “Shéhérazade” by Rimski-Korsakov with orchestra. She studies actually the BaroqueViolin at the Paris Conservatory.
